The Color of Water by James McBride takes us with the shocking, eventful life of Rachel Deborah Shilsky or also known as Ruth McBride Jordan. From growing up in a unbendable Jewish household living in the South, to running away(predicate) to New York trying to make it on her own, she was continuously surround by racialism throughout her whole life.
